Formal Observations

Tis the season for formal observations! I was wondering how your schools handle these. I worked at a public school for my first year and now I am in my second year at a charter school (3 years total). From my understanding, in public schools, a time/date is set for a formal observation. Last year (first year at a charter school) that was the case, but then they either forgot about it, or just didn’t come to observe. When I complained about it, their response was that while we set a time/date, admin can come in whenever they want for a formal observation. This year, they requested dates/times, and when I provided them, they said “I’ll come at one of those dates”, without specifying which one. Is this as ridiculous as I think or AIO?
