I met this guy to buy old fishing lures

I placed an ad to buy old fishing lures while working in Missouri. So a guy calls and I go see what he had and he tells me he is a prison guard and he tells me the only difference between a guard and an inmate is the guards go home at night. He tells me about leaving barely any toilet paper for the guy in the guard tower. Then he tells me he is moving and he has been poisoning his neighbors' pets with cyanide. I thought this guy is nuts or full of shit.

Then he tells me he made a cannon that shoots pipe bombs. He says he and his buddy put it up against a tree and when they fired it it almost took their heads off. He said after firing the pipe bomb went off in the woods and then blew up. I thought he was full of shit until he showed it to me and asked if I wanted it. I said no and took the lures I bought and left.

That was in 1985 and I don't know what to believe out of all he said but I did see the pipe bomb cannon. That is what I remember. This is true.
