Herpes or YI

I’ve only had one outbreak before and it was about one year ago (it was excruciating) and it started a lot like what I’m feeling right now… a lot of symptoms similar to yeast infection. In fact when I got my first outbreak I thought that it was a YI before sores showed up so I inserted monistat 1 day into my vagina and it made everything so much worse. My vagina basically swelled shut and tripled in size. Anyway… after this weekend I felt some pain down there and I figured that maybe it was just from having rough sex but it didn’t go away throughout the day and today I woke up unbelievably itchy down there. It feels like there’s little needles poking me inside. Should I just treat for both to be safe? Or should I wait to make sure it is actually an outbreak?
