So, guys I’ve been tasked with looking at/ fixing an issue with a hardtop 2011 infinite g37. Came from another shop who could not figure it out. I got the car and found many pieces missing, not hooked up correctly and not even plugged in with the top system. I’ve gotten to a point where I ca have the top fully close and fully open with the switch no problem, did the roof status learn after the reset and all that fun inbetween stuff. I’m running into the issue now that I can fully open the top, or close but only on one key cycle. Once it fully seats I’m not able to go in the opposite direction without one key cycle. I have obviously scanned this and my current DTCs are roof closed and open status list which according to my research it relates to the potentiometer in the left hand hinges assembly called the roof status sensor.
Now I pulled a schematic up and found the system where it runs into the module so my next step would be to test that sensor and load test the wires to the module as this car has had a rodent problem. My issue I’m having is what I think is the sensor does not have the correct wiring colors matched to me schematic and also when I take the numbers off the sensor itself it comes up as a link arm bearing with a harness too it. There isn’t much Info relating to this fault. I’ll throw some photos of my codes, the sensor in question and the color scheme. I’m not very familiar with hardtop in general and this is a learning curve for me and my shop. I wanted to get others thoughts if they are more familiar with these systems then myself.
