Cheap UV-vis for home use
Why do I want to use a UV-vis at home? Its really dumb
...No but really, why? Its really dumb: I want to test the concentration of my tea.
Vernier has the cheapest UV-vis I could find with their SpectroVis Plus ($479) and everything else I saw was at least 10x more expensive, even used instruments. Vernier also sells a colorimeter for $135 which is affordable but wont give me that sweet-sweet spectra I so badly want. Also it would be a gamble if those 4 wavelengths are even overlapping with absorption bands of black tea in water.
Does anyone know where else to look? Or other ideas? I haven't done a UV-vis since graduate school and even longer since an aqueous solution.
