Disclose or walk away? He made negative HSV comments

Hi everyone,

I’ve been seeing a guy for a few weeks and we really get along. We’ve met 4 times, but we haven’t kissed yet. He’s autistic, not sure if that’s important to mention. I’ve noticed he seems very cautious about health issues: • He asked twice if I had anything transmissible before sharing a drink. • He mentioned herpes once in a negative context. • He seems to judge or overthink risks related to infections.

For context, I have genital HSV-1. This makes me very anxious about bringing it up, and sometimes I feel like I might just give up on seeing him.

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? How did you handle it, and what would be the best way to approach the conversation or test their reaction?
