Hips/femur not lining up when walking? Anyone else?
Hi! I’m new here. I haven’t ever really posted on Reddit so I’m not sure how this works. I have been having an issue with my hips that has gotten worse this year. It’s always been an issue though.
Sometimes when I’m walking, my hips do a thunk instead of a glide where my femur joins my hip. It slides right back in by the end of the step but sometimes I almost fall over and/or it’s really painful. Is that my hip dislocating? It legitimately feels like it just doesn’t line up right. It happens even when I’m walking in a straight line. It’s especially painful if I’m walking with my backpack and have the extra weight.(I’m a college student and have to walk all over campus)
Some notes are that my PT has told me before that my hips are weak on the sides, which has contributed to knee pain for years and probably why my hips drop and I get severe chaffing between my thighs when I run or walk in shorts to much. I know a lot of people have their hips get stuck in the incorrect position but mine are usually in place. I do have all kinds of hip and pelvic muscle pain regularly too.
Does anyone else have this happen? Did it ever get better? Worse? What do you do? It’s getting worse and idk what to do.
