parking tips for stockton kings vs. salt lake city stars at adventist health arena (stockton ca 12/04)

figured i'd share some parking info for the kings game on 12/04 because downtown stockton parking is honestly always a little chaotic, especially right at event time. the traffic flow getting off i-5 and then into the main lots is the real bottleneck.

my number one insider tip is to check out the app prked. it's what locals use to rent out driveways and private spots, sometimes just a block or two from the arena . it's almost always way cheaper than the official lots and you skip the massive traffic jam heading right into the arena garage, which supposedly only has one entrance . you pre-pay, walk 5 minutes, and you're good.

if you stick to the official route, you have two main options right next to the arena . there's the big arena garage (a seven-level structure) and a couple of surface lots along fremont street . prices vary a lot, i've seen them posted anywhere from $10 to $35 depending on the night and how busy it is . they do take credit cards, atm, and cash, but honestly, it's way faster to use the parkmobile app or buy a parking pass in advance on seatgeek or parkwhiz just to speed things up at the gate .

since the game is at 7:00 pm on a weekday (12/04), street parking technically becomes free after 6:00 pm . however, and this is a big however, the area right around the arena isn't the best part of town . if your paranoia kicks in about break-ins, it's probably worth the $15-$20 to park in the main arena garage which usually has some patrol or staff monitoring it . don't risk a broken window just to save a few bucks. if you absolutely have to street park, one trick is to park closer to the civic auditorium and then walk across the street-there's a little more light and traffic there .

traffic gets really bad around the i-5 exits and fremont street starting around 6:15 pm, so aim to be in a parking spot by 6:30 pm at the latest . you'll also get through security faster. other paid garages like the market garage or coy parking garage are further out but usually easy to get into and out of if the arena lots are full .

hope this helps and you enjoy the game. go kings!
