Cis male with likely KP

I and my man like the idea of me being smooth but I think I have KP. I’ve shaved and Naired but it never gets fully smooth on my torso especially. Now there are hairs that are almost fully hardened out and I have ingrown hairs. I may get to a place where I go for permanent removal but I’m not there yet. Any guidance would be appreciated.
