My dad has waited 1.5 years after the initial attack and recommendation to get it removed, and is just now getting the surgery to get the stones removed as well as the gallbladder itself, should I be worried ? Please answer.
Hello everyone,
A year and a half ago my dad was feeling some discomfort and went ahead and got it checked out turns out he had stones in his gallbladder that were blocking some sort of canal which caused the discomfort.
He started eating healthy and took some medication and hasn’t had an attack since.
This is very stressful for me as I have OCD and keep obsessing over his health, and he is the kind of person that doesn’t like going to the doctor/hospital.
But that’s beyond the point, my question to you all is :
What are the risk risks after waiting so long to get the surgery when it was supposed to be done a year and a half ago ?
I am a very anxious person trying to stay positive, but I keep reading all kinds of scenarios about cancer and death and bile leakage and I’m just driving myself crazy.
I wanted to know if anyone has waited as well before getting it removed and everything went well.
