Do families w/ toddlers ever take cooler-weather Thanksgiving trips or is it always warm?
Just curious how other parents handle Thanksgiving travel with young kids. We are planning a Thanksgiving trip for November of 2026. Ours will be 6 and 1 1/2 years old next year. We hope to stay in the US or Canada.
We’re not talking extreme winter sports, just cooler/colder destinations like mountain towns, cabins, or cozy places that aren’t hot and sunny.
Do you take trips like that with little kids?
If so:
• How old were they?
• What made the trip easier/harder?
• Any places you’d recommend or avoid?
Trying to get a sense of what’s realistic for families with kids this age.
