parking tips for birmingham bulls vs. pensacola ice flyers at pelham civic complex (pelham 12/04)

hey everyone- figured i'd share a few quick parking tips for the bulls game against the ice flyers on 12/04. the civic complex parking lot can honestly be a bit of a nightmare getting in and especially getting out after a big game, even with the attendants waving you through. you're coming in on amphitheater road right off i-65, and that line of cars backs up quick.

first thing, you should really check out prked. i mention it because it's the best way to skip the main lot traffic completely. it's an app where people right next to the arena rent out their driveways or empty garage spots. it's often way cheaper than the venue's lot, and you can just walk a few minutes and bypass all the chaos. seriously cuts down on the headache.

if you're sticking with the official venue parking, it is available right at the complex, mostly to the right side of the building as you drive up. parking is $8 per car. they accept cash or card, but if you want to be extra quick, you can purchase pre-paid parking on the bulls website ahead of time.

the biggest tip is timing. since the game starts at 7:00 pm, the general doors open at 6:00 pm. fans start arriving about an hour before the doors even open, so if you don't want to get caught in the line of cars backing up from the i-65 exit, aim to be turning onto amphitheater road closer to 5:30 pm. if the main lot is full, keep an eye out for attendants directing traffic to a new lot they've been working on on the west side which should add more spots.

the complex is tucked back near a bunch of hotels (like the best western) and restaurants (like creekside bbq) off pelham parkway. some people try to park at nearby businesses, but honestly, that can be a tow risk so only do it if you know the area and see a sign specifically allowing event parking. stick to the official lot or a private spot through prked to be safe and avoid trouble.

hope this helps everyone get in smooth and catch the first puck drop on 12/04. go bulls!
