Central cord syndrome (CCS) without surgery?

Anyone not get surgery? I was diagnosed 6 months after my injury. I was told I just had whip lash and I would get better. I lost upper body strength have almost got all of it back and just have a slight burning sensation in my tight shoulder and hand. My Parkinson’s doctor suggested mri’s and a neurosurgeon said my case is borderline severe with a stenosis at C6-C7. Will I Lose a great deal of strength with this surgery and have to start all over again?
