What is with the constant and incorrect usage of "actually" in seemingly every other sentence?

Before I begin. Yes, I'm not young. 43 to be exact. Not opposed to the word "actually", I'm just confused as to why it is abused to the extent that it is nowadays by seemingly everyone in my day-to-day life. Almost 9 out of 10 sentences do not require it. Help me understand.

I know this is NoStupidQuestions, not NoRulesQuestions.
