Being a mom and wanting to get back into horse ownership
Hey all! I have questions about boarding. I grew up on a breeding farm and never boarded. Many years back after my mom's passing the farm was sold. As this was right before I went off to college I haven't needed to think about my questions I have now and honestly my situation has changed over the years. I'm now 30 and have a have a 5 year old daughter... I'm wanting to get into riding and horse ownership so badly. However I have concerns as if this is even possible yet.. my first question is, are there any moms on here that board and how do you do it?! Just to give you a bit of background I don't have like any family nearby just a few friends that aren't that dependable to watch my daughter. As she's getting older shes obviously much better but I also work full time so daycare is over right after I get out of work basically. I thought of hiring an additional babysitter for scheduled days, however after looking into this and boarding costs it would be well over $1000 extra a month. I guess I'm lost, should I just wait? I'm getting highly discouraged. On top of that I can't even get boarding barns to call me back and if I do they have extensive waitlists.
