Mrs. Ruth Waddell Hickman celebrated her 100th birthday on January 1, 2023

Thanks to Mrs. Arvonia Edwards for sending this photo to me on December 1, 2022. On the left side of this photo is Mrs. Ruth Waddell Hickman & on the right side of this photo is Mrs. Arvonia Rogers Edwards & I won’t mention Arvonia’s age.

On January 1, 2023, Mrs. Ruth Waddell Hickman celebrated her 100th birthday. In 2021 the doctor told Mrs. Hickman that she had pancreatic cancer & so during the first year of that diagnosis, she began cleaning out her house & waiting to die & after waiting several months of “waiting” to pass on, she decided to enjoy life. She poses here with a beautiful smile & dressed up for Christmas. Like the line from an old gospel song, “I could have been dead & gone, but the Lord let me live on.”
