Should I contact state AG?

Husband and I were in a car accident 11/9. He was driving swerved to miss a tree branch in the road on a dirt road, the tires ended up slipping when he braked and he crashed into a tree. The damage to the car was bad. The vehicle is older, and the collision center valuated the damage at $4900 and the value of my vehicle to be $5300. My vehicle has pre-existing damage: check engine light, can't figure out why, I have taken it to 2 different mechanics, replaced a bunch of parts, but it drives; the panoramic sun roof cracked during a hail storm-I declined repairing it since the cost was around $3k, deductible was $1k, and the vehicle is more of a backup vehicle for my husband.

Since filing the claim 11/9, I sent pics in, Geico valuated the damage at $1200. They keep telling me that an adjuster will call me, and no one ever has. I have called in weekly and get told the same thing. I was told by the shop the vehicle was being totaled, which is fine by me. I have since gone out and bought another vehicle. The problem is were now 3 weeks out and Geico is now saying they don't think they are totaling the vehicle, but wont give me a clean answer just that "someone will reach out" which they've been saying for weeks. I am not sure what I should do next. If they make repairs I am assuming they are going to have the collision company cut corners and skip doing some of the work, or just do shoddy work. I would just like them to write a check for the totaled out portion less my deductible so I can justbe done with the vehicle.
