I really like my job but the long days are killing me

Vent

I’ve been with this family for over 3 years now. I used to work 7:30am until 3 or 4pm and it was fine.

Last year my schedule changed and I start at 6am, which means I have to wake up before 5am because I have a 45 minute drive.

One of the NPs has a job where the hours are always changing so for the last few months I’ve been working 6am-6pm and it’s draining me. I barely have time to do anything when I get home and on weekends I have to do all the stuff I couldn’t get to during the week.

I feel exhausted no matter how much sleep I get. I’m starting to forget things. Today I left my keys in my car when I picked up NK from school, I got very lucky the keys weren’t locked in.

The job itself is fine. Both parents work out of the home, no dogs, no cameras, no micromanaging, no family visits or travel. But the long days are just too much!

I don’t know what to do because it isn’t the parents fault, but I’m not sure how much longer I can keep this up. I don’t want to go through another job search and I don’t want to leave my NKs, but I’m considering it after being informed I have to work late again this week.
