Feeling discouraged

Hi everyone!

So I’ve had my little sassy Siamese for the past 8 years. In those 8 years I’ve lived in one house, and only ever left with her to take her to the vet. She is a strictly indoor only cat.

Well, I’m moving to a new state and it’s at max a 6 hour drive. My girl does NOT like the crate. I will say her whole life she has been riddled with anxiety and I am just so stressed about this. I want her to be as comfy as possible.

I’m trying to get her familiar with her crate (I bought a newer more spacious one). I’ve been putting her food in there for her to eat and put some comfy blankets, even covered it with a blanket I frequently use so my scent is on it. She won’t go hangout in there unless to eat. I’ve tried different pheromone sprays, reward system for whenever she goes in and nothing. Whenever we went to the vet, she was pretty rough in the crate.

Im already planning on making a vet appointment to get her gabapentin, but would love any other advice on what to do.
