parking tips for boston fleet vs. minnesota frost at agganis arena (boston ma 12/07)

hey fleet fans, figured i'd share some parking survival tips for the 3:00 pm game on saturday, 12/07. parking around agganis arena, especially on a saturday afternoon, is honestly a headache. commonwealth ave can turn into a real mess, and bu is pretty strict with their lots.

the best secret weapon is often **prked**. it's an app where you can actually rent out private driveways or empty garages right next to the venue. it’s usually way cheaper than the event parking rate, and the spots are tucked away so you can skip a lot of the comm ave traffic getting in and out. grab a spot that’s only a short walk away and you’ll save yourself a ton of frustration.

if you prefer official parking, the agganis arena lots a/c-2 are the on-site options, opening up 90 minutes before the 3:00 pm start time. expect to pay around $15.00-$30.00 for special events and you’ll need a credit card (visa, mastercard, american express, or discover) as they don't always take cash. warning: the agganis garage has a clearance of only 6 ft. 6 in., so if you’re driving a tall suv or truck, check the overflow options.

the main bu overflow spot is lot b - the langsam garage & lot (142 gardner street), which has a much higher clearance at 8 ft. 2 in.. keep in mind that most of the other nearby bu lots (like d, e, f, h, and r) are typically employee permit-only and not available for guests, so don't try to sneak into those.

a good strategy is pre-booking on an app like spothero or parkwhiz to guarantee your space and potentially save some money. this is especially helpful if you want a spot like the one near 1028 commonwealth ave. to avoid getting stuck in the commonwealth avenue bottleneck, look up routes that approach via memorial drive or beacon street, especially when heading toward lots like langsam or the essex street garage (in brookline).

whatever you do, be super careful about street parking in the residential areas around the arena. bu and the city issue really expensive tickets. if you're looking for cheaper metered parking, try the babcock street parking lot just over the line in brookline. it’s a 12-15 minute walk but the meters are typically about $1.25/hour and only run until 8 pm on a saturday. just remember that brookline has an overnight parking ban, so any car left after 2 am will get towed or ticketed.

hope this helps everyone get in and out smoothly for the fleet game!
