Suggestions needed for a crochet armband for my Mom to cover an internal dialysis port

Hello! My mom is a dialysis patient and has an arteriovenous graft (AVG) in her bicep for her dialysis port. She has asked me to make her an armband to cover up the AVG bulging out from her bicep, but I am unsure if an armband is the right thing for this? I can’t find anything online that is crochet-specific to an AVG.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I could make for her or any patterns for a cute armband?

I think she mainly wants something that will just cover the AVG and can easily be taken off or washed. Her skin is pretty fragile and gets caught on things, so I am thinking about using velvet yarn? Is velvet yarn breathable in the summer?
