What places around town have active construction sites for viewing?

My toddler’s latest obsession is construction vehicles so I’m looking to take them to different parts of town to see workers in action (from a safe but viewable distance) We pass by a house passively being built in our neighborhood that has excavators but never get to see them working, it would be an awesome experience to make their day.
