No Experience - Looking to break in

Happy holidays, everyone. I’m 30 and have spent most of my 20s working in insurance, with some manufacturing experience mixed in as well. I currently live in Chicago and I’ve got a business idea I want to pursue in a few years—but right now I’m nowhere near the income I’d need to get it off the ground.

I’ve been hearing that oilfield work (floorhand, roughneck, etc.) can be a solid way to make good money fast. I’m in decent shape, don’t mind physical labor, and I’m open to traveling or relocating if the opportunity makes sense.

I know this question gets asked a lot, but what’s the most realistic way to break into that kind of work? What jobs should I actually be applying for, and where are the best places to go right now?

Nothing really tying me down besides a girlfriend lol. Any advice is appreciated.
