HCA graduates able to find jobs in BC?

Ask British Columbia

Hello,

I aspire to become a registered nurse. I have enrolled myself to school for HCA program near Vancouver area, my plan is to start somewhere in healthcare, earn some experience understanding the aspects of healthcare industry and then go back to schooling to become RN. I read a post which was literally posted a week ago about someone struggling to find a job as HCA after graduating and registering . This is so discouraging and disheartening to me as I firmly believed healthcare industry has huge shortage for workers. It’s my dream to become a nurse one day as it helps to become stable financially and also serve my community better.

I am considering to do some volunteering work for hospitals until I graduate as HCA. Please all my fellow Reddit folks hear me out- if anyone has recently graduated as HCA please share your experience, is it really hard to get the job? What are the actions we can take to avoid become unemployed. I am just baffled because I always heard healthcare provides job security and abundance of jobs. Please respond I am super upset and rethinking my choice.
