Improving First Class meals
A lot has been said recently about the decline in meal quality in First Class. I’ve experienced this myself. But I think I’ve thought of a way that would let Delta accomplish their cost-cutting goals for First amenities while also serving industry-leading quality to many customers.
What they should do is bifurcate the First cabin into two meal services. First, FAs serve paid First passengers a full course meal with hot towels, nuts, salad, bread basket, the works. Then, when those passengers are done, FAs collect the trays, take all the dishes that are uneaten or partially eaten, and re-serve those to the passengers who upgraded into First.
You may be thinking that this is unfair, or even degrading, but you’re missing the point. Upgrade-seeking Medallions have been getting table scraps from Delta for years. These ones are just more literal.
