How do agencies track domain ideas for multiple clients?

Strategy

I'm researching how branding/marketing agencies handle domain research for clients and would appreciate your insights.

The scenario: When working with multiple clients, you likely:

  • Research domain names for each client
  • Need to keep ideas organized by client
  • Track which domains are available vs. taken
  • Sometimes need to revisit ideas later

My questions:

  1. How do you currently track domain ideas for different clients?
  2. What tools or systems do you use? (Spreadsheets? Notes? Something else?)
  3. What's the biggest pain point in your current workflow?
  4. How much time do you spend on domain research per client?
  5. Would a tool that organizes domain searches by client and alerts you when domains become available be valuable?

Context: I'm a solo founder building a micro-SaaS focused on domain discovery and management. I'm specifically trying to understand if agencies need better tools for managing domain research across multiple clients.

What would make this valuable for you?

  • Client organization/folders?
  • Team collaboration?
  • Integration with your existing workflow?
  • Something else?

Would love to hear from anyone who manages domains for multiple clients. Happy to share what I learn from this research too.
