CHF results in cat, can someone help me understand?

My 16 year old cat James, was diagnosed with congestive heart failure at the emergency vet this weekend. I am going to follow up with a cardiac specialist as soon as they have availability, but I need help understanding the conclusions at the end of the report from his hospital stay.

– Moderate bronchial pulmonary pattern compatible with lower airway inflammatory disease (DDx immune-mediated/sterile feline asthma +/- concurrent infectious bronchitis/pneumonitis). – There is a concurrent unstructured interstitial pulmonary pattern, most prominent in the ventral lung fields. Consider pneumonitis or pneumonia, with underlying interstitial lung disease also possible. However, given the presence of a small-volume pleural effusion, cardiogenic pulmonary edema secondary to occult cardiac disease (e.g., hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) remains a significant consideration even though overt pulmonary venous distention is not clearly identified. Detection of a murmur or gallop on physical exam would further strengthen suspicion for cardiogenic pulmonary edema and likely justify a diuretic trial. Echocardiography is recommended if there is ongoing concern for structural or functional cardiac disease. – In the absence of vomiting gastric luminal contents likely represent ingesta. – Large volume of urine within the bladder likely secondary to behavioral retention. Underlying bladder pathology (e.g. cystitis, less likely neoplasia) cannot be radiographically excluded and should be considered if there are urinary related clinical signs.
