The racial component to the humiliation of Akaash is likely the most damaging to his sense of self worth

Akaash really prides himself on his Indian heritage. So much of his standup relies on racial humor involving Indians, the British, colonization, etc. Even when he was reprimanding Myron Gaines he made a point to emphasize that he only dates “brown girls” and was offended that Myron was not attracted to his own people’s women.

I imagine that hearing his wife talk not only about her sexual exploits, but that they were specifically WHITE boys probably hurt him more than if it was Indian guys. White boy frat houses, her “hall pass” list including exclusively white Hollywood actors… The sexual comments don’t seem to bother him as much. Akaash was laughing when she was making comments about Nav’s penis, I have a feeling he would have felt differently if Nav wasn’t Indian.
