ex-Anglicans/ex-Episcopalians

I'm just making this post to see if there are any other ex-Anglicans/ex-Episcopalians out there?

I know most people here are from the US, and the Episcopal/Anglican church is a refuge for some escaping fundamentalist churches. For others, it's the last stop on their deconstruction journey before they bid adieu to the Christianity and the toxicity that often occurs. In my part of the world, the Anglican church is fundamentalist.

I left a while ago, but I'm still working through some unhappy memories and how the entire experience has affected my life. It's only now that I'm on the outside do I realise just how toxic Anglicanism can be: the constant infighting between conservatives and liberals, between Anglo-Catholics and evangelicals over the most irrelevant shibboleths, the superficiality of saying they love each other to be part of the same church, yet they actively seek to undermine one another at every turn. It says a lot that my church recently got in a lot of trouble for their horrible use of NDAs to silence employees.
