I am not a team builder, so please be gentile. A LOT of this is just guess work, so I am SUPER open to suggestion. I tried to find rentals for reg j, but couldn’t even find a decent rundown of what is in the meta :/ I checked out the teams on cybertrons youtube, but none of them actually felt that good to me against a wide field in Bo1 (again, I don’t know the meta going in, so I may just be playing badly)…I used the team with Ho-oh and Miriadon for like 15 games and was able to get to great ball at like 13-3, but I didn’t feel like the team was actually that good. There was a lot I felt pretty bad into, but it had some parts I really liked, so I decided to try to cook something up. After a bit of testing on showdown I feel like there may be something, but it doesn’t feel like it’s ready to put on cart…but it really just be that I am not playing well into dudes I don’t know well…and with all that said, here’s the thinking behind my team:

Groudon: I wanted something to set weather. I felt like there are a lot of people running koriadon/setting weather, and it seemed like a good idea. This spot started with koriadon, but I wanted to have a ground type later in my building, and I wanted a strong rock type attack for into flying mon, so it became groudon. I’m not sure this is correct, but it also kinda feels like the backbone of the team, so…

Ho-oh: I love this guy. He is the best part of the cybertron team I was playing. I love the life dew cheese, I need a tailwind setter, and sacred fire is boosted in sun. he is just a sweet dude, so here he is.

Flutter mane: I wanted a strong STAB moonblast for killing koriadon/miriadon/other dragons. Flutter mane came to mind…also protosynthisys.

Urshifu: I am not convinced I’m running the right one. I’m not actually totally sold on this guy at all. When building, for reasons I can not recall right now, I felt like I needed a strong dark type threat. Enter Urshifu. If this guy is correct I think he should probably be Tera dark, not stellar, but I’m here asking what you think.

Amoongus: I love this guy. I don’t know the meta, and I don’t build teams, but I do love Amoongus. I figured I would need some redirection, and I like the dude, so he is here…that’s really all. I did consider putting follow me on ogerpon instead, but I couldn’t justify cutting any of his moves, so I figured it never hurts to have a spore gun lmfao

And that brings us to

Ogerpon: with the other 5 dudes I felt like I wanted to add a water type (probably) and someone who learns taunt. I considered leaf guard tsareena, and I’m not sure this is better than that. He is a great answer to kyogre, and he does taunt guys, although he is not GREAT into amoongus, and I have not faced a darkrai with him, so idk if he would save me from the thing that made me want taunt in the first place.

So there it is. Lmk what you think….or if you know any good repositories of teams or meta breakdown for reg j lmao. I hope I’m close to something decent.
