Advice/recommendations

I (adult learner) have been taking lessons for about a year now--and I have started to have a basic understanding of some concepts. I have started playing more for fun now as music is easier to read--I was wondering if anyone could impart some advice for me/tips for learning piano. I have gotten decent at reading on the grand staff but my rhythm needs improvement (I look at the rhythm and dont immediately "see it" I have to break it down).

Anyone have any advice/things they wish they would have known at my level?
