Help me remember this movie...

I have a movie in my head that I know I've watched in the last year or two, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is.

The part I am remembering involves the main character, who is a mother, wanting to kill herself.

This takes place in Los Angeles, maybe in the 1960s. She drives her child to a babysitter's house, and tells the babysitter she'll be back later. The sitter can sense something is off, but doesn't say anything. The child chases after the mother and she starts to cry as she sees her child in the rear view mirror.

She then checks herself into a hotel in Beverly Hills, where she is planning to kill herself. After spending an agonizing day in the hotel, she changes her mind, checks out of the hotel and then goes to pick the child up.

This is all I can remember about it. Any ideas?
