Do I buy ski boots?

I (29m) have a group of college friends that have been making an annual ski trip, this season will be #4. I don’t see this tradition ending anytime soon so my question is, do you think it’s worth buying my own boots? I currently live in the south so the annual trip is the only time they’ll get used.

I grew up skiing each year and wouldn’t say I’m an expert skier, obviously, but I’d like to consider myself a strong above average skier. I am able to ski everything my friend who lives in Denver skied at Breck, Beaver and Vail.

The last two years, even though I did my research on where I rented my equipment from, I found myself going back a few times throughout the trip because I needed to change out my boots as my feet were going numb.

This year I’ll be in Utah skiing and I know there are plenty of great boot fitters there, so this will be the year if I get my own boots. Should I?
