Wanting General Advice. What are some things that happen after turning yourself in for a bench warrant?

I'm turning myself in on Monday on the 8th for a bench warrant I've had for maybe 4 or 5 years and I was wondering what happens when I do? And do I need to see a lawyer or public defender beforehand?
