Prime Rib Tips?

My father is turning 70 next month; he taught me how to cook steak so I want to try and do something special to celebrate for him.

I think a good prime rib dinner is something he'd greatly enjoy but i've never done it before and it seems like a difficult meal to master.

So what are the steps for a successful prime rib?
