He suddenly doesn't seem interested in talking to me?

So basically me and this dude would text each other every night for basically the entire night, like we would be up until 4 am some mornings talking and this has been going on for months.

A little over a week ago there was a night he said he was tired, I told him to go to sleep and he wouldn't because he didn't wanna go to sleep before me, he wouldn't give specific reasons why he didn't wanna go to sleep before me when I asked. He kept saying it was private reasons, good reasons, and for him to know. A lot of people told me he probably liked me, that same night he actually asked me if I was single.

After that night we haven't really talked a lot, yesterday we played a video game together for a few hours but again after that we haven't really talked. I messaged him and he didn't seem interested like the conversation was 4 text messages long, I sent the last message.

I wanna continue messaging him but I don't wanna be annoying. The last night we were up talking was the same as every other night so I don't know why he suddenly seems uninterested in talking.

Something else worth mentioning is that yesterday when we were playing the video game he said he was considering talking to his mom about something and I asked about what and he told me it was sad and he didn't wanna get into it with me, so I'm not sure if maybe that's been bothering him and that's why he hasnt been talking much?

I don't really know whats going on and I need to hear other people's opinions.
