Looking for work bag recommendations

I currently use a Jemma Emma Traveler 39 for work. I’ve had it for a year and overall have been pretty happy with it BUT it’s starting to show a lot of wear (dirt, scuffs, scratches, edge peeling, etc). I’m planning to get it repaired, but I’m looking for alternatives that I can cycle so I can give her a break and try something new.

Things I need:

• Able to carry my 15” laptop MacBook Pro (it’s a beast)
• Decently wide shoulder strap. Otherwise the weight cuts in to my shoulder.
• Durability.

Things I want:

• Leather. Good, real leather.
• An exterior pocket (for accessing my badge/pass)
• Some sort of divided internal pocket (I don’t like the yawning abyss of a simple tote)
• Convertible to a backpack?

I don’t have a fixed price in mind. I’d be comfortable going up to $800+ for the right bag, but I’d like to keep it under $500 if possible.

Any advice or ideas are welcome!
