[Feedback] Is this a normal thing or I'm just extremely bad at the game?

I've just started to play, I'm like 50 hours in and level 12. The thing is that there is some people I feel I just CAN'T kill. I fire and my bullets do literally nothing plus I'm using the AKS-74U with the scarce modding I can do and it works awful, recoil is huge so I can't really aim for the head because again, recoil is huge.

It's happened a few times that I'm literally waiting for someone I've heard and aiming downsights, he comes through my angle without any clue that I'm there, I fire, I hit him like non stop, and he just doesn't die and kills me instantly.

Is that just how it is suposed to be because with shitty bullets and shitty gun you can't do anything but getting a, sometimes, very difficult headshot? Or I should be able to actually win some pvp and I'm blatantly awful at this game? It feels quite frustrating when I have 100% of the advantage and still die even shooting first, it really feels like trying to fight iron man.

I've only managed to get 7 kills and, again, it was due to contexts where the guy didn't cross my angle sprinting and I was indeed able to get a clean headshot, or times where I had pvp with someone very unequipped so my bullets actually hit and his bullets doesn't go through my tier IV armor as if it was paper nor he gets a headshot on me in two seconds.

I'm not complaining about this btw, I'm totally ok with difficult games and I have 0 gear fear. I'm just genuinely curious if this is supposed to feel like this and without any decent bullets or decent gun build I'm just unable to kill some guys in some situations even if I have 100% the advantage, or if it shouldn't feel that impossible and I'm just very bad at the game.
