New to extraction games. Am I playing it right?

My boss at work pitched this game to me so well that I decided it was a must cop. I had $40 to spare.

Just got it tonight. So far I've been dropping in, looting and sneaking my way around on solo avoiding combat except with the flying bots.

When I feel like I got loot that I don't want to lose to sell for money or craft, I find one of those places to go back to "Esperanza" location.

Tbh, it is really fun to me. The thrill of coming across someone friendly or not friendly while I loot and build my character up to get good stuff. I am figuring out which guns I like and I am always the type who likes to be sneaky.

I only visited one of the traders seriously just to grab binoculars to see further ahead or something.

Am I doing good for a person who has never played an extraction game? I want to get good before I tell my boss I got the game lol. Also, i'd love to hear you guys opinion on what makes extraction games fun for you.
