So, it's been a few days now. In hindsight, do you guys think the recent update was good or bad, and if so, why?
Personally, I saw a lot of people who were discontent with these changes when they dropped (understandable, seeing as their power levels had dropped), but now that the dust has settled, I still firmly believe this update definitely isn't the worst thing to grace Save The World
We got tier 5 expeditions which were a requested feature for so long, and their absence was probably one of the main reasons why duping resources was frequent.
We got our fort stats multiplied by 4x which actually makes us stronger. I was 130 before the update cause I really dislike ventures but after the update dropped I can now reach 132 provided all my hero loadouts are maxed out and the visual bug isn't causing problems, which means my fort stats reflect a whole squad of 132 players. This is even crazier for 140+ PL players, cause their stats essentially reflect and entire team of maximum possible leveled players, which, in my time playing fills, isn't necessarily easy to come by
They removed party buffing in exchange for these stats boosts which allows beginners to play in a vacuum and get a real semi-authentic early game experience, whilst people who want to turn off their brains whilst playing STW can now do so and use more fun builds in the 160s (seeing as the difficulty has decreased, and people complained about the plasmatic discharger being nerfed as it was a nice weapon that made the game easier). And on top of that, if you want to play the 160s solo, it is definitely more feasible now due to the stat changes mentioned above
With quest progress now tracking across incomplete missions and our buffs to X-ray tickets and V-bucks for founders, now followed by this change, I'm actually a big fan of the direction that STW has been going in recently.
I will admit the hero loadout PL part is weird because there aren't THAT many super chargers to supercharge every single character in all of my diverse hero loadouts. However, one could argue it is a new goal in order to fully maximise PL in STW.
The only thing I would change is inventory weapons affecting PL. Even tho inventory weapons have a minute effect on PL compared to the rest of the factors mentioned, it would make more sense if it scaled off of schematics in your homebase
So yeah, other than the misfortune that struck some people who were about to hit PL milestones, I think this is overall a really good change and I think you could argue both beginners and veterans have won in their own ways. What do you guys think?
