I never see my kuhlis anymore
I have a 33g planted tank that is inhabited by a full size militia of shrimp, a small country worth of ramshorn snails, 7 chili rasboras (I'm trying to find more but nobody is stocking them) and a dozen (I think? Counting them is impossible) kuhli loaches... When they were still very young spaghetti noodles I got to see them all the time making their way around the tank floor, just kinda chilling on the substrate with no real worries. As they got older they became harder and harder to see around the tank. I've been adding more hiding places as often as I can and you can now travel from any corner to any other corner without being seen, with the assumption that more hiding spots would make them comfortable to come out of hiding more often. They clearly aren't going hungry as they are now like fat udon noodles and regularly get stuck in the wood sometimes, but I wish I got to see them more. Can I get away with additional loaches without risk of overstock? (I have two HOB filters (aqua clear 30 and 50) or would I be better adding more rasboras (hoping they will work as dither fish?) any other tips appreciated as I love seeing their little faces poking out of hiding holes.
