Difference between "friends" is so obvious

Jealousy is a real brat sometimes. I have two friends and they are brother and sister. We've been friends for 23 years. The one was born with spina bifita- I'm probably spelling that wrong. She also has as her Dr called it "knees and back of a 70 year old at the ripe old age of 43". She's married thank God and her husband makes pretty good money as a Blue collar worker but I have been trying to convince her to at least apply for SSI. I dont think she would get SSDI cause she's only had maybe 4 years total of work history due to her medical issues. Her brother on the other hand has worked here and there since 18 and is now 40. He's been trying to get SSDI for 2 years due to depression. He only takes his medicine if he feels like it that day. Will buy and eat a whole entire 200mg bag of We@d gummies then while that's making his way to his system he rolls and smokes a whole one. Every day. He's in perpetual space. When I told them my good news I unfortunately got 2 reactions of mild and not so mild envy and jealousy which I completely understand from her. She basically said what I would have said which is "dang good job; but God I wish that was me" Her brother on the other hand said and I quote "Yeah of course you get it the 1st time like you're so freaking special you get to now just lay around and collect a check. Why the heck do i keep getting told no? That's crap. One is my best friend the other is connected to my best friend...it's not hard to figure out who's who. I should have kept my good news from him but they do know I applied and I was expecting some kind of bratty behavior but I think it's more vitriol because he's getting denied. He needs a lawyer at minimum and all the luck 🙄 Anyway I just needed to vent my friends bad behavior. He'll get over it especially if he can get approved. Ok end of rant
