How to get out of the patriot exo suit on Xbox (bug???)

I was the last one alive and I wanted to get out of the exo suit and I was clicking and holding A. Nothing. I was clicking and slamming every button and nothing. We all got left behind. Is this a bug? Do I have to click a magical button???
