“Hello. Would you mind if I joined you?” The voice, a familiar timber, fell upon Felix’s ears and he froze. Slowly, he turned to stare at the man who was towering over him. He had one haunting scar over his eye and a prominent, blond beard. His hair was long and parts of it were tied out of his face into braids. Some dirt had been smeared on his cheeks. This disguise might have fooled the average commoner, but Felix could draw that face from memory.

King Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd had found him.

It was obvious to Felix that Dimitri recognized him. Time had only made Felix’s hair longer and the frown lines around his mouth sharper. Still, it seemed as though Dimitri was committed to acting naive for the moment. Two could play that game.
