How important is sex in a relationship?

TL;DR So, I've been in long-distance talking stage for a few months and it's going great, we have emotional connection, our conversations are great, we have a lot in common. It's also seems soon we will be able to meet in person. And here comes my problem.

I know that meeting in person means that our physical aspect of relationship will start. I really love kissing, cuddling, making out, being physically close in all possible intimate and romantic forms but I don't like sex (penetration). I love being desired by partner but the feeling of having sex is at best neutral and at worst uncomfortable (im just waiting for it to be over). I can do it from time to time but thinking that my partner would like to do it more than 2-3 times a month just gives me an anxiety. I know I don't owe anything to anyone but I wonder especially about perspective of men.

Could you be satisfied in the relationship if your partner doesn't really want to have sex but she values you and wants to be physical with you. It's such a big problem to me and I think it's quite uncommon.
