Does anyone else like making "technically not a X" deck?
Just want to preference this by saying I said make not play.
But I find the idea of "technically" not an X deck interesting. Because it allows that little inventive and competitive part in the back of my head to get an itch. Cedh is fun and its good to play but deck creativity and iteration kind of lacks. Like it focuses over maybe 1 or 2 cards from a set like Cabbage merchant. And for the vast majority of decks its a discussion which leads to "not good enough".
With the old system of "everything is a 7" the was no rules at all to discuss "what is a 7" which made the system as a whole kind of pointless.
But the restrictions from the brackets allow for this fun "how far can I push it". And I think it allows you embrace wincons closer to the commanders identity. Like trying to make the strongest bracket 2 najeela list that is focused around warriors attacking with no combo or gamechangers.
