Vertical syncs fine except adding new activities (eg skiing) doesn't show up in Vertical Solar Titanium

I've added alpine skiing & XC skiing for example in the app on Android. Watch synced. Forced app to stop and restarted. Updated watch. Other things like watch faces get uploaded to watch.
Would also like to delete some activities in the watch too (eg yoga) but the apps in the watch are not listed in the app. It seems the activities don't sync watch <=> app. seems wrong. New watch. Any directions? Looked through r/suunto didn't find. Thank-you.
