Advice please! Frozen vs fresh

Opinion

Baby is four months old, had hoped to feed at the breast but that went sideways and I’m pumping six times a day. I started at eight ppd and am now at six, I make enough for baby with a pretty modest oversupply.

I feel like I have to have a bit more than I need on hand at all times because sometimes baby doesn’t finish a bottle so an ounce goes down the drain (yes I’ve frozen some for baths). I’m not on a regular schedule of freezing milk but find I’m usually able to freeze a bag a couple times a week.

My thought was pumping sucks but I’m happy for my baby to have breastmilk as long as possible - so I’ll eventually add up what I have frozen and try to guess how long that could last. Then I would stop pumping at some point ideally before a year, and then use the frozen milk to get us to/maybe slightly past a year. Is that what some people do? Or is this a terrible idea to eventually be using entirely frozen milk? I’m so new at this and trying to learn, any advice is very welcome and appreciated!

I can’t imagine pumping longer than a year, but I also couldn’t imagine pumping this much and here we are.
