Oxford Vs Baton Rouge

I usually don’t get that worked up very much over what is said on the show, but Dan’s utter lack of knowledge on Mississippi compared to Baton Rouge is frustrating. I was born in southwest Mississippi which is only about an hour’s drive from Baton Rouge. I’ve also lived in Baton Rouge and Panama City, Florida. I don’t say this to act like I’m anything special because I’m not. I’m actually closer to mediocre than special. I only offer these bona fides (I actually heard this in Witty’s voice) to say that Dan is way off base with his brown lakes comparison. Baton Rouge‘s waters are way closer to Oxford than Florida. I lived a mile from the beach in Panama City and it blows Oxford AND Baton Rouge out of the water (pun not intended). I agree that Oxford and Baton Rouge are way different culturally. Baton Rouge has a New Orleans vibe with a little country thrown in. That creole culture even seeps its way into SW Mississippi where I grew up. There are as many LSU fans as Ole Miss there as well as the MS gulf coast. Anyway… I’ve lost the thread. Becoming a “too long” post. Anyway… the water off the coast in Louisiana is almost brown as well. See you Gary.
