How can I salvage my sheepskin half pad?

I effffed up and put my sheepskin half pad in the laundry on a hotter setting than I should have. The sheepskin side shrank considerably even though I didn't put it in the dryer😬

Is there any way to salvage this? Its still pretty damp and ive been trying to manually stretch it back to size and lay it flat with heavy items on top. Neither seems to be working though.

It wasn't a HIGH end pad, but is barely a year old.. it would be such a bummer to have to replace it so soon.
